Blue Steel Bruisers

Meet Darin Vail.

Darin was born August 6, 2009 at Albany Medical Center. He was diagnosed with Hypo-plastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) in utero. He had his first surgery within a week of birth. Multiple surgeries were required to correct the blood flow of his heart. Darin also had surgeries to place a mechanical tricuspid valve and a pacemaker.

Darin is very loved by his parents, Fred and Missy, his sister Lexie, 19 and his twin brothers Kane and Killian, 18. His Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins are also very close and supportive.

Darin was given his Make A Wish at age 4. He picked Disney World. The trip was amazing! He was treated like royalty and went to the front of every line. At Give Kids the World, where we stayed, it was run by all volunteers. There was ice cream all day, cookies and hot coco at night, presents were left on the table everyday, and characters came to visit the kids. They really know how to make each kid feel special. Darin had a very magical trip, one he will never forget!

Darin has always been a very happy boy! He is a jokester. He enjoys playing basketball, baseball, bowling, swimming and four wheeling. Darin also loves WWE and having wrestling matches with big stuffed bears on his bed.

Please help us support Capital Cup for Kids by making a contribution to our team and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar we raise will advance Capital Cup for Kids' great cause!
