Meet our Honorary Captain: Jack
Jack Gannon is a 6 year old kindergartner at Loudonville Elementary who loves video games, movies and dancing. After returning from his first dance convention in New York City last January he began to experience symptoms that led his parents and pediatrician to have him seen at the Children’s ED at Albany Medical Center. After a day’s worth of tests and exams, Jack and his family got the news no 5-year-old should ever receive, he had Cancer. Jack was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on February 9, 2023. Since his diagnosis Jack has taken the fight to cancer that has earned his treatment plan the nickname “Jack Attack.”
While enduring everything treatment has offered including surgery, hospital stays, nasty medications and chemotherapies and lumbar punctures — Jacks has continued to dance, started kindergarten, been a great brother and earned several Victory Royale’s in Fortnite.
Jack will earn the ultimate Victory Royale next April when he is scheduled to complete his treatment and finish kicking cancer’s butt. He’s grateful to everyone who’s had his back including his mom and dad, brother and sister, his team at Albany Med and all the friends and loved ones who have supported him in this fight.

2024 will mark the 15th edition of the Capital Cup for Kids, the premiere adult hockey fundraising event in Upstate, NY.
As it has been since our inception, the focus of the Capital Cup for Kids will be to raise funds and awareness for children battling a life-threating medical condition and their families in need in the Capital Region.
This year we will provide support to Building on Love who is managing the administrative and fiduciary responsibilities of presenting the event. Funds will also benefit Capital Cup for Kids, Inc. We will also be granting funds to Make A Wish of NENY and other local organizations. Your gift will do a lot of good!
The 2024 event will feature 400+ participants making up 24 teams competing in four divisions, all vying for their names on the Capital Cup as well as for the bragging rights as the tourney’s largest fundraiser.
